In Northern Indiana, on our way
to New Hampshire, we will have dinner at the home of Donna and Cliff Rice.
Both are attorneys and Christian conservatives. Only
after Donna heard Rudy Giuliani speak at the recent
Family Research Council'sValues
Voters Conference in Washington
D.C. did the couple decide to support
him as their party's candidate, despite his stand
on abortion and gay rights:“We are both interested
in seeing someone with integrity and leadership ability
in the White House. We would rather deal with issues
of disagreement openly and with respect, however,
than be pandered to by a politician trying to win
our favor. That was part of Giuliani's appeal....
We are opposed to abortion, but do not see this as
a one issue campaign. There are many issues of critical
importance to the American way of life and our stability
as a nation”.
A view of the entire journey.
